TRAVEL! Jonah Foster

So much travel. After taking the school trip to Europe, I worked 7 days and then hopped back on the road again. This time I went to KSU for LABASH 2023, then back to Baton Rouge for a friend's wedding, then to Marion, NC, for the college disc golf national championship! All of those were a blast!

First, LABASH was really fun. My favorite part was catching up with some friends I had made during my previous internship. Getting to spend time with them was so much fun. During the conference, we were able to go on a prairie tour and see hundreds of wild Bison! I even picked up some Bison poop, how many people can say that? And we also walked around the insect zoo at KSU. Seeing glow in the dark scorpions is really something else.

Second, going back home was really sweet. I got to catch up with my family and 2 of my really close friends. My friend's wedding was on April 1st (poorly planned), and that was so much fun too. I got to see a lot of old friends from high school and catch up with them. The whole experience made me so much more excited for my own wedding coming up in July.

Last but not least, the college disc golf national championship. SO MUCH FUN! We all had a blast! The tournament was from Wednesday to Saturday, each day full of competition. Our LSU team ended up placing 28th out of 64 teams, which was better than we did the previous year. But for one of the singles competitions I made it to the top 8! They had a march madness style tournament with the top 64 ranked players, and entering as the 23rd seed I got to take down the second-highest-rated player at the tournament to advance to the Elite 8! I then proceeded to get demolished, but it was still great.

I also got to spend Easter Sunday with my fiance! She came down to NC for the last day of the tournament and then I drove back with her to Liberty that night. I crashed at one of her guy friend's place and then got to go to church with her on Easter which is something I wasn't expecting, so that was really sweet.

Now it's time to get back into the grind! The first two days of work back have already been exhausting, I didn't get off till 11pm tonight. Still learning a lot though!

Until next time...
