Is that light, I see? - Connor
Hello everybody!
I am going to dive right into it, t-minus two weeks till I am finished with this internship. It has been mutually agreed that I will not be extending my internship into the summer. My official last day is May 12th at 12. I have a high school friend graduating from Southeaster on the 13th, and Mother's Day is on the 14th. That weekend will be the first time I have left the great state of Florida, since December. So, I am very much looking forward to being back on Louisiana soil.
I have been working on the same project for three weeks; my eyes have not seen another project. I have spent countless hours adding/subtracting trees to meet the code minimum required. I spent four hours on Sunday identifying the plants in Land F/X. Monday all I should have to do is put the mulch. On Thursday I was sent out to measure 15 existing bald cypress to see, if we could get any credits for them. Thirteen were big enough to count as two credits, one was undersized, and one had its top missing from hurricane Ian.
I went to Miami on Saturday. Old me from a few weeks ago, would have let knowing that I had to go on the weekend and work, ruin my weekend, but that me is in the past. In Miami, I went to a beach for a few hours. Alligator Alley, the interstate that connects Naples to Fort Lauderdale, had a few miles of the eighty mile stretch getting redone, but most of it was smooth sailing. After, the beach I wanted some comfort food. So, Cane's it was, but the one in downtown Miami was in downtown. So, no parking, but a parking garages for the area. I did not want to pay $25 for a parking garage, for Cane's and walk up and down the street. So, I decided to go the other one in Southeast Florida. I plugged in the address for the other location, Maps told me 30 minutes. I drive the 30 minutes to end up at an auto shop. I called the Cane's, and they gave me a few landmark locations across the street from them. Come to find out I was still 1.5 hours away. Long story long, no comfort food for me. Guess I will have to wait two week for Cane's.
Attached are pictures of the North Reverse Osmosis plant, a baseball game that Johnson was invited to attend, and a picture of one of the cypress trees I measured.
