#6 - Happy Resurrection Day
Greetings,
I finally got a glimpse of spring this weekend. Snow is starting to melt, which is strangely both sad and exciting. This week a few people were out of the office, so it was quiet and the days went by slowly. In the last month I've made multiple full-site sections for four different projects. It's tedious work, but it is really helpful for understanding and designing each site as they all have significant grade change. There's a new project that seems to be a big deal for our office. It's confidential, and we are working with some other high quality design teams which is neat. The CEO, Becky Zimmerman, came to our office to visit and to be at a meeting for the local ski resort project. It was nice to learn about her background and the company's history/trajectory.
I went skiing yesterday and hit a new high speed of 54mph.
My weekly routine has been the same: eat, sleep, work, climb at the gym, hike to Cave Rock, ski and go to church on the weekend. By this time in the semester I would be burned out on school, but I haven't felt that way since I've been here. I hope everyone else can say the same about their internships, but if not, maybe it has helped you learn what you want/don't want to do in the future.
Keep hammering,
Ethan
Here, enjoy some more photos of Lake Tahoe.
A serene Easter sunrise. First time seeing fog over the lake. |
Skied a run called Firebreak. I hope I don't experience a forest fire while I'm here. |
