Lets talk about March

Whattup, these past few weeks there have been more housekeeping-related items on the agenda at work because this coming Friday all 9 other offices are coming to Denver for a biannual get-together.  Besides that and the typical redline corrections on drawings, I have been lucky enough to get another residential project that I will lead the design of; this time I will be working with principal Gary. This house is from 1925 and the owners had come to terms with potentially spending 6 figures on this small property including a retaining wall reconstruction so this budget should allow for lots of fun opportunities.  I also presented my preliminary designs to the client for my first residence this week, which was a cool milestone to actually have a client reviewing my work.  He seemed to like the geometric form of one of the front yards and we have a direction to dial in the backyard for the final concept.

Last weekend I spent a day snowboarding at Copper Mountain with my fellow intern and his roommate, and there definitely are some noticeable differences between the resorts out here and in the East.  I was lucky enough to have a nice powder day on that Saturday morning to make it even better.  This weekend, while I did not make it to any impressive summits, I hiked and snowshoed ~12 miles round trip from the road closure to the Guanella Pass, this was the most remote and secluded I have felt the whole time out here.

Bierstadt and the Sawtooth; just another 6 miles

There aren't a lot of people out here
