In times of darkness, look for the light
well I guess it's about
time I do another one of these things.
It's been really rainy the past
few weeks here in San Diego and it's starting to take a toll. You'd think being
from Louisiana the rain wouldn't bother me, but I feel like a grey overcast
blah. If that doesn't quite explain my current state of being, then listen to
the song Misty Morning by Travis Bretzer. That's the vibe I’m on. The swells
have also been pretty weak as a result, so I haven’t been able to surf as much
as I’d like which really bothers me as I was really starting to fall in love
with the whole aspect of communing with the ocean through a series of
polystyrene foam-covered layers of fiberglass cloth. sigh. hopefully getting an
extra hour of sunlight each day from now on will give me more opportunity to
get out in the water more in the coming future. work has been equally as
unexciting as i have continuously been put on more CAD work. this week I mostly
drew a series of sections for a project in Canada. I did however get to go out
in the field to do some tree tagging which I enjoyed very much due to the fresh
air and very scenic routes that we took to each nursery. I'll attach a few
pictures from that. Other than being a pawn on OJB's chess board and the
greyish weather I still feel very lucky and blessed to be here on the west
coast, each time I leave the house I have to remind myself that one day soon I’ll
be back in Baton Rouge and a sense of gratitude usually washes all my troubles
away. In other news I got a new pair of shoes that I’m obsessed with, I
started The Last of Us, my new favorite animal is a seal, and I’m desperately
awaiting Jonah's triumphant return from France as it has been very lonely without
him. As usual I hope everyone else is enjoying their time away from school
projects and deadlines. Till next time here’s a few pics...
the Last of Us.. love that show
